My name is Katarina Damm-Blomberg
I live in the beautiful Aland Island archipelago- Finland, with my husband and two adorable children.
I work as a deputy superintendant, and teacher in a nine-year compulsory school and I’m the head of the second grade students. I’m also teaching art and crafts classes to the older students.
I started to scrapbook during the autumn 2002, when I was pregnant the first time. I found a magazine that showed how to make small baby albums, and I got started… and I got hooked.
Today I scrap almost every day, it’s a way of keeping me happy after a hectic day at work, and with two children, my scrapbooking studio is my small haven where I can relax and just breathe.
My Creative Goals!
My professional goal is to work as as a designer and design team member for paper craft manufacturers, kit clubs and paper crafts publications. I enjoy working with highly creative and professional artists whom develop new trends in the scrapbooking industry. I hope to inspire and emulate what artistic flavour is all about.
I like to think that my designs grab the eye of the beholder. I am eclectic and artistic in style.
I am truly in love with the colourful kitschy/funky/messy style and the heartfelt vintage design work.
I’m specializing in layering of patterned papers, colours and the intricacy that is added with each embellishment is what I look forward to in the design process.
Using varieties of products and textures on a page is strength and a love.
I do want to create for what the picture calls and the mood of the photography, and I don’t want to be stuck within frames of art, I love the freedom in making what the heart calls for.
I like to use my photographs to tell the story of my pages, while it’s preserving a “piece of the moment” for my children.
I mostly create LO´s and Cards, but I also make altered art randomly.
